Usage
Important Notes for the Installation and Use of Oil Seals:
1. Shaft Speed:
Due to design and structural considerations, oil seals must be selected based on shaft speed. It is essential to use oil seals that are appropriately matched to the application; otherwise, damage may occur.
2. Ambient Temperature:
In high-temperature environments, polypropylene ester, silicone rubber, fluor rubber, or silicone fluor rubber should be used. Efforts should be made to reduce oil temperature in the oil tank. In low-temperature environments, cold-resistant rubber materials should be selected.
3. Pressure:
Standard oil seals have poor pressure resistance. Excessive pressure can cause deformation. In high-pressure conditions, reinforced high-pressure oil seals should be used.
4. Eccentricity during installation:
If the eccentricity between the oil seal and the shaft is too large, the sealing performance will deteriorate, especially at high shaft speeds.
5. Surface finish of the shaft:
Pay attention to the surface finish of the shaft, checking for any unevenness or scratches. If any are found, they should be addressed immediately, as they can directly affect the service life of the oil seal.
6. Pay attention to lubrication:
There should be a sufficient amount of lubricating oil at the lip of the oil seal. This prevents wear on the lip surface and enhances the sealing performance of the oil seal.
